Our Exeter Road building dates from the foundation of the church by Lady Willielma Maxwell, Viscountess Glenorchy in 1777, and it is from her that the church takes its name. The present building was built on the site of the original chapel.
The present building was opened in 1869. The Victorian Sunday School building was replaced in 1990 by a new set of halls and rooms.

In 2002 the sanctuary was completely refurbished and is now a space well equipped for worship in the 21st Century.
An induction loop is fitted in the church and level access is available through the Meeting Street entrance.
